Calcium Chloride Food Grade Briner's Grade Pellet

Calcium Chloride can be used for a wide variety of applications - from brining to brewing.

Calcium Chloride briner's choice is for a wide variety of applications. Principal uses are for the pre- and post-harvest treatments of fruits and vegetables to maintain firmness, reduce decay, and protect the crops. It is even used to help prevent particular diseases. Calcium chloride briner's grade is also used in making  frozen food as a secondary, immersion freezing fluid.

Caclium chloride is even used as a personal care ingredient, in bath oils, cosmetics, conditioners.

Our Briners Choice Anhydrous Calcium Chloride is manufactured and packaged by OXY / Occitental Chemical Corporation. It meets USA FDA Food Additive Regulations 21 CFR 184.1193 and 24 CFR 582.1193. It is GRAS (generally recognized as safe). 

Briners Choice Anhydrous Calcium Chloride is a sold, white pellet form. The substance is odorless but tastes salty. It is hygroscopic in that it absorbs moisture from the air. Calcium Chloride is highly soluble in water at ordinary temperatures and crystallization on will occur under certain temperatures and conditions.

Use in Food and Soap Making

Used commonly in anti-aging creams, bath oils, antiperspirants, canning, reducing pH in beer making, cheese, hair colorants, lipsticks and pickling.


Keep in a cool (preferably below 85°F, the cooler the better), dark and dry store-room.

Shelf Life

Under optimal storage conditions, in original unopened drums/containers, minimum two years.
