An excellent preservative system for personal care formulations where a formulator requires a paraben and formaldehyde-free preservative system.
Sorbic Acid Preservative +2 PF is made of a blend of phenoxyethanol, sorbic acid and an emollient base offering effective protection against bacteria, yeast and mold growth with the added benefit of imparting emolliency with the caprylyl glycol.
Sorbic Acid Preservative +2 PF is very useful in formulations like creams, sunscreens, lotions, color cosmetics, body washes and shampoo applications.
It works well and is effective in formulations at or below a pH of 6.0.
It is effective as a stand-alone system and functions well with other preservatives.
This preservative is compatible with most raw materials in the personal care industry.
May solidify at temperatures below 77°F. Gently heat at 104° to 122°F and stir to ensure homogeneity.

Suggested Guidelines
Usage rate: 0.75 to 1.5%
Typically this preservative is added to water phase or cool down (preferred method)
Use in formulations with a final pH below 6.0
Using this preservative s may occasionally result in thinner emulsions. Test first. Increase the thickener as needed to maintain product consistency

Storage - Store tightly closed in a cool, dry, protected from direct sunlight 24 month shelf, properly stored / handled
