Mixing Procedure

Blend together glycerin, coco betaine, and SCI powder in a mixing bowl or in a pot that can be heated on a stove top. After mixing these together, pour in to your pan to be heated. Heat the combined ingredients and slowly add the propylene glycol to the mix, continuing to stir until the ingredients are blended well and the SCI powder has completely dissolved.

Add water and stearic acid as you continue to blend until stearic acid is melted in to the mixture.

Check the pH. Adjust to 7 with citric acid. Start with a small amount of citric acid and go from there.

Remove the mixture from heat and let the blend cool to 100°F or below to add the preservative per the manufacturer’s instructions.

When the mixture cools and solidifies you can then mix it. As you whip it (whip it well), add your desired colorant and fragrance oil(s).
